yep everything worked perfect when I removed it in Dec of 2006. I bought the truck new in Oct of 2005. Only reason it was removed was to install a Mark LT shifter all becasue i wanted a leather shift **** instead of the plastic one, the plastic one just did not seem correct for the Lariat with leather. i sold the 2005 and am clearing out space in the garage.

check the link below for how to get the **** off and the top of teh center console. it was really easy from what i remember. you just need to take the top off teh console and teh left kick panel and you can get to everything really easy

yep you can buy just a **** and i actually started out buying just the ****. once i received it i discovered the Mark LT **** was attached to the shifter mechanism completely different than the F150 version I had. i had no interest in doing the labor to make it work others had done when i could get the entire shifter and just swap everything. i have no idea if the F150 changed to the Mark style **** in 2006 when the Mark came out, i just know my 05 F150 **** was very different from the Mark LT.

That is odd...I got one for my 07 and it was a straight up replacement. Learn something every day...

Hey triple8, I'll definitely take the shifter and assembly if you still have it. Please let me know as soon as possible....I sent you a PM also!
From '07 and up is when they made the F150 shifters the same as the Mark LT. From '07 on down they were different. I want a leather covered shifter handle for mine too and I did some research on this. My truck is an XLT and came with the jumpseat and the column shift. This past spring I installed a flow thru console and the floor shifter that I bought off Ebay. Unfortunately the donor truck was an '05 so I was out of luck with the leather. I plan on having mine custom wrapped.

Yeah man, it's all good! I finished the endcap, well sorta. Being a finish carpenter that was the easiest part of the whole swap, LOL! But, being an **** finish carpenter I'm not happy with the results, so as soon as I get some free time It's coming apart and getting fine tuned. I rushed it the first time, not so bad but not perfect either. I plan on posting pics and a write-up of the entire swap as soon as I get this last part finished the way I want it.
How is yours? Anything with your endcap yet or you still thinkin' about a dash swap?

End cap is still there, waiting til Les and I go to Texas the next time to buy the dash--think ill beg Patman to help me out with that one, or maybe Luis. Then she'll be stock

Luis said he bought the whole dash for $100, so if I can have it put in for another $100 or so, that'll be great
