AF1 Intake
AF1 Intake
SOLD
Air Force One cold air intake from my 2007 F-150 5.4L V8. 3.5" polished tube which, as it has been noted in this thread below, will require a tune (though I've used as is with no issues).
Complete (as pictured), all parts needed for direct hook up.
USED, so element needs a good cleaning but still very serviceable.
Located in Greensboro, NC. Local sale preferred but may consider shipping at buyer's expense.

As I recall the 3.25" was the size that did not require a tune, the 3.5" does. I have the 3.5" on my truck with a Troyer Tune.
And no, it won't fit the 4.6L.

Edited to add: Whoops, it's the 3.0" that didn't need a tune, not the 3.25"

NCSU - so I understand correctly, the need for a tune is identified how? Does a 3.5" throw a CEL without one? I replaced my stock air cleaner box with this one and drove several thousand miles without any issues, which is I why I'm stating none required. Please elaborate if there's more to the requirement.
Did you ever check your A/F after installation? The 3.5" intake can cause the engine to run lean. I'm not sure how lean the mix has to be to throw a CEL, or if that will even cause a CEL condition. That said, will it destroy your truck the first time you run it, probably not. Will it cause increased wear and damage to the engine and parts in the long run, if you run it lean, it will.
Other member's mention of this:
3.5" Air Force One Intake (04-08 5.4L V8): Includes all parts for installation plus instructions (a little smudged but still readable). This intake was purchased from Troyer performance. If you read on this site you will see this intake is widely regarded as the best power-making intake for the 04-08 F-150. You WILL need a custom tune to safely run this intake due to the increased air flow. In addition to the original AF1 cone filter with about 14,000km (8,000 miles) on it, I will also include an Amsoil EAAU3590 dry filter that works perfectly with this intake.
And the big one...

I have an Air Force One 3.5" CAI for sale. I no longer need it and worked fine when removed. I will wash the filter if you want before I ship. You will need to oil the filter yourself. Intake tube has heat wrap sleeve on it. Includes hardware and instructions. You will need a custom tune to run this intake.]
Second - for the 2004 & newer 5.4 3V trucks, there is always the 3.0" version of the Air Force One, and that does NOT require any tuning changes to use - it is the only intake kit known to actually increase power everywhere and not require tuning of the 26 kits we have tested (which is to say every one on the market).
Anyway, for the gentleman who posted this thread, STEVEN30 - with the 3.0" AF1, you do not require any custom tuning to compensate for the 3.0" version - that is only required for the older 3.25" and the current larger 3.5" versions of the Air Force One. We have discontinued the 3.25" unit, and now offer the 3.0" unit for those who want to be able to run it with their stock tuning, and then the 3.5" version for those who want the largest power gains across the board.
I hope that info helps!

Ok, thanks for all that. Ought to be useful for anyone considering to buy / use.
