2005 Ford F150 Sirius dilemna and solution

I had a 2006 F150 and it had the sirius radio option. I bought a 2005 Ford F150 and it didn't have it.

My solution. Ford dealer is a total ripoff. I took the Sirius module out from under the factory Ford radio. BE SURE TO TAKE THE SHORT WIRING HARNESS TOO. It connects to the back of the sirius, then to the back of the radio..then a seperate 2 wire power source.

I removed the dash from the 2005, it didn't have the metal mounting bracket for the sirius. The radio was MP3 and 6 cd and if your radio has the MP3 function and an AUX button..you are good to go. I tied the power to the cigarette lighter, plugged in the sirius to the back of the radio...installed antenna thru the dash..up the pillar(you can pull the rubber trim from around the door easily....)ran the antenna wire up the pillar and the magnetic antenna attached to the roof. Reinstalled the rubber and badabing badaboom...I got my sirius back. works perfectly. I have the radio controls on the steering wheel..and the radio aux button engages sat 1,2 and 3. and the display shows the channels..and the steering wheel controls work pefectly. I cheated on the sirius install..by using zip ties and attaching the sirius to two cross members in the dash.... worked for me. I could find NO PLACE that sold that small sirius wiring harness. may have to goto junkyard to dig one out. good luck
