got any pics of it, i really been looking into a new shift cuz the handle issue frustrates me alot

Jackal 01-21-2010 01:23 PM

Right now, this is the only pic I have in my gallery. :o

https://www.f150online.com/galleries...213-133048.jpg

It shows where I eliminated the piece of rubber between the two mating surfaces to get rid of ALL slop, and I added lock washers and jam nuts to the back side so it would NEVER come loose again. This was my only complaint with the Hurst unit.

Here's a pic courtesy of JMC:

If you want actual pics, I can get those tonight if interested.

thejake1989 01-21-2010 01:25 PM

yea id love to see some pics of it installed. ive seen jmc's also. how hard was the swap

Jackal 01-21-2010 01:58 PM

Literally takes about 30 min. Just 4 screws to remove the plastic cover, then 4 bolts to remove the lower plastics, then another 4 bolts to remove the actual assembly. Same for install with the exception of adjusting the 2nd. and 3rd. gear stops, then securing the shift lever as pictured above, but I'd try to remove and ship without having to loosen it up.

....man i want this

Jackal 01-21-2010 02:18 PM

Ruh roe...

If it makes a difference to anyone, I won't be able to pull this one to ship for a week or so.

:lurk:

Sorry man. I've been really busy. Haven't been on much either. I just started working really and as soo ln as I can start my cash flow up I'll make sure to keep in touch. This is something I really want to swap out in the truck

Jackal 01-23-2010 06:50 PM

Cool man, thanks.

I edited the OP to show additional goodies.

still for sale? Got any pics of the different boot. These aren't discontinued jegs summit and hurst still have them for sale, for anybody else still lookin'.

Jackal 01-24-2010 07:57 PM

Summit doesn't list them, Hurst most certainly doesn't have any, not even service parts. Jegs shows them for $290, but I'd call them before I trusted that. They have been discontinued at least as long as B&M has owned the Hurst name. The boot is the same as the one pictured only new in wrap. I bought some extra hardware and the boot from Mr. Gasket thinking I would need new ones after Crash! was done taking it out of this project truck.

Jackal 01-24-2010 07:59 PM

Nope, just called Jegs, they don't have any...maybe I should ratchet up the price on mine. ;)

lightning_clone 01-25-2010 07:14 AM

sorry for the mis-info i just looked on the website and saw them and ASSuMEd that they would update it if they didn't have them.
