Question Help I lost a fuel sensor float in a fuel tank.

Ok, it is not on my SuperCrew it is on my boat. The sending unit went bad and when I went to replace it I found out the new float was a bit tight. Anyway during the test fit I went to pull it out and splash it was gone. I have tried and tried with a clothes hanger to retrieve the D*** thing but no luck. Hell I can't even find it. I can shake the boat and hear it banging away. I was wondering if I could make one out so something any ideas? This forum has always been friendly and full of great suggestions so I thought I would give it a shot before I spend another $30.00 and buy another one.

Thanks in advance

I've already put about 3 gallons of gas into the bottom of my boat with no luck. I'm just going to but another one and user the sensor part as a backup for when this one goes out. Thanks anyway.

Tip the boat upside down and shake it.
