suspension or body????

what's better body or suspension. my brother wants to know this because he wants to lift his truck but he is on a very tight budget. he wants to go body and put bigger tires on change the rear axle ratio to ???????? i forget what he said. but anyway, what do you guys think. i said to go with Fabtech since his truck is 2WD and suspensions i think suspensions are the way to go, but again he's on budget. Any suggestions, comments, wisecrack remarks lol!!! ???????

I'd do the Fabtech also. The body lift may only result in tires 33-34inche tires being able to fit.
FabTech=expensive
Bodylift=inexpensive
tires=expensive
gears and installation by pro=expensive
2x4s=fun

I've seen both on the 2-wheel drives and definitely like the suspension. I also am on a tight budget so a suspension lift is outta the question till I get outta school. If he just wants it for looks I would go w/ body. Suspension lift require a thick wallet. I have a 4x4 and the body lift gives it a bit more of an aggressive look with the bigger rubber...

Mainly depends on if he can install either one of the lifts. I would definetely go suspension either way but if he is on a tight budget there is nothing wrong with a body lift .That's what I put on mine. It will probably get you a 33-35in tire depending on if you wanna crank the torsion bars(if it doesn't have torsion bars you can add spacers).

I'm on a tight budget so I went with 3 inch body for $90. installing myself. Picked up slightly used bigger tires for $225

Tight Budget Lifts

And the fun begins. When you lift and put on bigger tires you will notice a loss in power especially if you go to 35" from stock. To compensate for this a gear change is called for. When you talk about school I am assuming you are of the age where you do no have too much experience in that area to do it yourself. Depending on what part of the country you live this will add about $500-$700 to your budget. As I said "Now the fun begins"
You can do these thing in stages. Liff first, then tires, then gears.
Just thought you should be aware of whats is going to happen.
Enjoy.
