Alpine Loop Colorado
Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anyone on this forum has ever taken their f150 on this trail.
I will be going there the end of July and was planning to take my stock 2010 F150 4X4 crew cab, but am a little concerned about the ground clearance and the switch back on the trail. And if anyone has any other advice on things to in the area that would be great too.

Nothing like digging up an old thread!
I decided to go to the mountains again in August and took the F150 this time. It was AWESOME. When we began the loop, within 1/2 a mile I began to wonder if we were on the right trail and if the F150 would handle this. The road was very narrow and the grade was pretty steep. We stayed in 4 wheel low about 1/2 the time. The truck did great. We only saw 1 other full size vehicle the whole time, and only bottomed out once. Tire placement is key. Ill post some pics soon..

Oh man, I remember as a young man in college, reading Petersens 4Wheel and Off Road Magazine, the stories about the Alpine Loop in their Jeep CJ-7 with the then massive 33x12.50 rubber always intrigued me, and the photos made me want to go there. I still want to go there...
Those photos make me want to be there.... NOW.
