Yep only in 4wd. If you want a cheap way to lock the front you can get a front diff from a A4WD Expedition. It locks the front wheels also... I had one before I installed the true trac. Only reason for the swap was I ended up getting in a bind and Snapped a inner axle shaft...

A limited slip is not a locker and does not act like a locker. It will help with traction on pavement but doesn't do much of anything when offroad. Get a tire off the ground, that tire gets all the spin, the one on the ground gets nothing. if you are wanting a locker get "lunch box locker". it just replaces the side and spider gears. Detroit, powertrax, spartan and aussie all make them. You could also go with a full detroit locker. Both types lock the wheels and then un lock when turning. A limited slip is not worth the money.

I was just asking. So I'm defintetly going to get a detroit locker in the rear. Debating on whether or not to get an LSD or something along those lines in the front.

Depending on the year model in question I can prove you wrong. I have a detriot tru-trac up front in my F150 and it does help off road even tho it is considered a LSD it will spin both front tires even if one is in the air. It will get thru tough situations by evenly distributing the power to the front wheels. If you want cheap for your 97 pickup a used diff from a 99-03 A4WD expedition.
