The locker is nice, but the LS isn't bad either, it got the job done and he got across, just with a little more tire spin

Another Ford LSD fail. This is why I replaced the junker in my f250 with a TruTrac.

I haven't had my Screw in a situation yet where the limited slip would be needed but my old Rodeo had an LSD and it got me out of a lot of tight spots. Half the trick is knowing how to avoid getting into trouble in the first place. Also, there is a lot to be said for maintaining momentum.

I wish I could have LSD and the E Locker in the 2010 FX4, that way I could drive in 2wd on the beach and not get stuck with one wheel spinning

I thought the whole purpose of LSD was to prevent that type of problem. Won't an LSD engage the loaded wheel after the free wheel makes a revolution?

it has been talked to death but to keep it simple. a LSD or posi is a system of clutches that help equalize the power to both rear wheels. It doesn't put too much force against them as people would comlain about tire wear, chirping in turns etc... So it will help power both is the traction on both is close. If you fully load or unload one wheel that is more load than the posi or LSD can override. Lately it seems like Ford has built the LSD looser where they are less grabby. I loved the older LSD's in my F150 Lightnings and Bronco's. But my 05 F250 it would one wheel in sand.

The electronic lockers mechanically lock both wheels together so they will not slip even with one in the air.

I think one of the best systems OEM is the GM/Eaton G80 governor locker. I know they have been broken and exploded with larger tires and extreme use. But if you leave them stock they are very good and fully automatic. I have put over 100k on several Z71 trucks with no failures. Check out this video demo.

I was glad to see Ford put the e-locker in some of its trucks. They should have the option to have it engage in 2wd. I agree the g80 locker on GM trucks is a good product in stock form. The limited slip in Ford is capable as I had good luck with mine in my 01 Screw. Don't get me started on the Toyota pseudo limited slip.....that has to be the worst 4x4 system I've ever attempted to use.

Many of us have 09-11's and are discussing the fx4 E locker and LSD's our trucks are equipped with. These videos are good demo's of real world applictaitons and how they operate. Delete or move it if you must...
