Saw a 250 harleydavidson 4x4 stuck in grass

Sorry, but no pics on this one, but a funny story here.

Caught a couple people trying to hook up behind an elementry school in a 2006 f250 harley davidson diesel 4x4. The guy had some nitto terra grappler tires on it...he was parked in the grass but we have had a lot of rain here lately and it is extremly soft. Well we told the guy to back out of it and not to get stuck, he said he had a 4x4 and would be ok.well he backs up and when he hits the mud near a sewer or something he snags up and starts spinning his rears...several attempts to get unstuck were unsuccessful, he put it in 4x4hi and lo with no help. to make matters worse,my buddy who has a cheve z71 was laughing his butt off that this f250 diesel got stuck in some soggy soft grass.

This is when i mentioned to him that he had a 250 which should have the locking front hubs. he said he didnt know, that he never uses his 4x4. well after calling a wrecker we popped` off his hubs and tada locking hubs...he locked them and backed out without a sweat. he almost made ford look bad on that one, but it ended up just him looking stupid.

Next time this guy might want to read his owners manual or something. Im sure his girl was not too impressed.

He was in his thirtys it was his truck, he said he only uses it for towing a fifth wheel.

and yea, im glad i got the rear e locker. = wonder how difficult it is to get some lockers for the fronts...that should be something else ford should think about putting on the fx4's.

Don't the hubs automatically lock themselves but you have the ability to lock them yourself? I thought that's how our 03 F250 was.

One thing you have to remember about a diesel is it is extremely heavy and it doesn't take much to make one sink...I tried to get a big trailer out of the field a few weeks ago and almost sunk mine in a field...i did get it out without help but could get no farther... i had to use my F150 to go get it. even drove right over where my f250 was almost sunk and never spun a tire in 2wd....so much for big trucks. haha
