JGG are you calculating on paper or using a tuner? I'm going to have to do the paper method to see just how accurate my edge tuner is at the moment. Going to be hell staying off the throttle.

According to the edge tuner I average ~15.5 driving conservative but not milking it for miles. Sweet spot is about 65mph for lowest rpm to highest speed ratio with 4.56 gears and 37's.

I normally use paper and GPS. I was suprised the my truck's computer was pretty much dead on with the edge resetting the speedo to compensate for tire size. Speed does have a ton to do with it of course. It goes up to ~15mpg at 60-65mph. Took one road trip that I wasn't in a hurry and went 55mph the entire way and it went up to nearly 17mpg. Never really look at what the edge says.

yeah I've got a hypertech programmer, but I only programmed it to account for the tire size and change the speed limiter to match the tires. Apparently it will allow me to change a lot more though, like shift points and shift firmness, engine rev. limter (I think that's what its called), but I don't really know what Im doing when I mess with. But yeah, I want to get good mileage - for a truck... which IMO would be about 14.5 or so... which is what I normally get when I don't gun it

Just for an update... I re-tuned my truck, and wow!!! I mean wow!! I didn't realize how much of a difference upping the shift point RPMs by +200 and making the shifting firmer would make! It drives so much better! Hills are not as bad where my truck was having to downshift and roar the engine to make up some steep hills on the highway, now its just vroom and it takes off. And acceleration with stock 3.73s is a whole lot better and passing people too, wow... I am totally amazed. I may have to play around some more with this thing

oh ya, and I still havent ordered anything yet as far as lighting and bed covers go, but Im leaning more toward making my truck like Impact's... I really like that setup. And as much as I origanally though camper shells were ugly on all trucks, after seeing Impact's I really really like that a lot.
