Question 4X4 or 4X2?

I am interested in buying a used F-150 soon, and I have about $6000 to spend. I Spend a lot of time outdoors, Mtn Biking, Camping, Nags Head, and Ski Resorts. Is it worth spending the money on 4WD or will a 2WD suffice, allowing me to put more money into getting a newer vehicle?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

been there,done that
last truck i bought i had a smaller buget
i went for the nicer 2 wheel drive
resons where got a nicer truck for the money
the repairs where going to cost less
tires are alot less
go's alot farther on a tank of gas
and you can save more for the next truck
this time around i bought a 4 wheeler
