Got to use the Winch =)
So today i get a phone call midday saying a budd of mine was stuck in a pond. he was about 75 feet into the pond and was buried i got snagged a aftermath pic im really mad i didnt get a picture in action but i forgot. the smittybilt winch worked real good.
Love the pic, been debating on getting a smittybilt myself, which one do you have the 8,000 or 10,000

General rule of thumb, is double the weight of your vehicle, then go to the next size up, thats your vehicle's winch. So, truck weighs 5k lets say. 5+5=10k, so I would be looking for a 10-12k winch.
We use 9k winch's on our little Samurai's and Jeeps.

Doesn't mean a 8k wouldn't help, but it wont always get you out, and will be working WAY harder then it should be. Keeping an eye on the temps, and giving long breaks inbetween pulls will help keep it alive, but might not be enough "umph" to help. I have had a buddies 8k over heat trying to pull my samurai out of a stuck.

my decal came from the guy who makes all my custom decals.
as for my friend lol he wasnt thinking very much he was at least 75 in this mosh his truck was buried and his front bumper valence fell off right afer we left that gas station lol.
and i have the 10k smittybilt it held up and performed very welll.
