I just got a set of Mickey Thompson MTZ 33x12.5xr17. Im getting ready to take a trip to Colorado and Im going to try to spend as much time up in the mountians as possible. I was wondering if any of you guys on here have any experience with these tires in the snow??? I know they are GREAT in the mudd. Just wanting to know what to expect. THANKS

I have 35" MTZ's and I LOVE them in the snow. I am in the process of trying to upload a video, I am hoping it will be up tonight. I will be sure to link it for you. The tires just seem to keep grabbing for traction. Dont be afraid, giver hell.

285/75/r16 MTZ's load range "E" here. They are bad *** in the snow, gravel, dirt and mud. Not so much on wet pavement or ice. In loose snow they are great.

I can go farther in 2wd with these tires than I could in 4wd with the old Goodyear Wranglers.

Some drawbacks worth mentioning.........

1. Loud tire on dry pavement
2. Hard to balance
3. Cost

I'd buy them again in a second, but not if i was going to drive on the highway long distances. If your truck stays off road or on back roads like mine they are a good choice.

If you do alot of highway driving consider BFG AT tires. They are great in the snow with better on road manors

Had them for 2 winters now and LOVE them. Actually made my brother buy some for his 2008 tundra.

They actually out perform my mom winter tire on ice

And yes they're hard to balance.

They perform great in the snow, but not quite as good as BFG A/T's when it is icy. Overall I prefer the ATZ.
OOPS...I read wrong, I have ATZ not MTZ.
