The price we must pay for just a little fun.

Broken gears after snapping brackets, I believe it happened here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipzwLt8SulE
at a approximate time 00:38 and 00:51 to 00:54 turn your volume on and you can hear the clanking noise really hard.

Also, you do all your own work ? That your shop ?

Yup, big tires plus spinning and grabbing will break parts. Way too much air in the tires. You should be down to at most 15 psi. This increases the foot print and allows the tire to conform to the terrain. While it will not guarantee total elimination of wheel slippage it will increase traction and it might allow the diff and CV joints to live a little longer.

I wish I could find CV joints that could flex more than 27° and didn't break with 35 inch and up tires.

Try Bobby. The man is the ONLY one I would look to for axles. Superb quality, like nothing else out there. Plus, he is a good guy, with the best warranties. I know he offers a Dana 60 high angle CV. I am sure there are others. Give him a call, tell him what you want, and what your after. He will most definately point you in the right direction.

FWIW: Runnin his axles in my yota axles on the Samurai, the have a high strength rating then a Dana 60 axle !!!! Thats frickin awesome. I can run 39" tires with out any issues at all. If your serious about it, call them.

253-847-8254 for questions.

I work on my own truck but only the bolt on **** around the truck. Not my shop, truck is at Ford performance department, same place I've gotten all my mechanical work done since I bought the truck in Nov. of 2007. I'm upgrading to a stronger clamp and they're adding an additional clip that goes around the clamp, hopefully that should solve the problem of it happening again.

Tires were deflated to 14 lbs but the terrain was both extremely uneven and very gravely which contribute to tire spinning like crazy.

You fellas that have chrome aftermarket wheels, have you seen any damage to the finish of the chrome from your adventuring? Im sure that having a much wider and meatier tire keeps alot of stuff off the wheel but I dunno maybe if things turn around here, and get let some of our old riding lands back open I will be putting mine in some dirt. The value of it keeps getting lower and lower while I keep her prestine no use really.

So I was just asking though again about salein my wheels once spring/summer rolls around and getting some black. I just don't really like the look of black wheels tho.
