i turned on to probably the worst road in the county this morning and to make it even better it was just one big sheet of ice. wind caught my side and i lost control, back of the truck went straight off the road into a 4-6ft ditch and the front end followed leaving me & a buddy in awe that we weren't upside down, the truck was damn near sitting on the passenger side. we hopped out and i flagged down a guy with a chevy HD diesel & fully loaded trailer, ******* just mumbles to me and pretty much tells me i'd have better luck walking through 5 miles of snowy cornfield and asking a corporate farm if they'd help me out. next up comes a guy in a tractor trailer... no luck with him b/c he didn't have anything in his trailer and it would've landed him in a ditch. i decided i wasn't walking anywhere and told my friend to lock in the hub on his side, i locked mine in, hopped in and put her into 4wd expecting it to be a waste of time...i pressed the gas and she started moving like the 18 inches or so of snow, mud & grass wasn't there(on top of that my tires have very little tread left) i stopped & let my buddy in. the banks were too big to get up without rolling so we drove through this ditch for a couple miles until it ended, pulled out of it into a yard and got back on the road

hahaha yeah i definately have no doubts about her ability now. a few friends of mine that are die hard chevy guys gained a lotta respect for my ford through that. i knew she was a tough cookie but that ditch seemed completely out of the question. only tested her ability once before and that was in a swamp, she got pretty far but ended up quite stuck, took a 6 wheel tractor with all wheels powered to get her out. the friend of mine i bought the truck off of(for a steal, only $1000 and only $15 of problems that werent my fault) said it was the first time it's ever been stuck. i'm definately glad she didn't roll over, or even get the slightest amount of damage for that matter.

 

It's funny the chevy dually was scared to try to pull you out.

 

yeah it'll be twice as funny when he's the one in the ditch and i just sit there laughing at him. the roads out here get pretty bad b/c the county doesn't touch most of them so i'll probably be seeing him soon

once i knew i wasn't hopelessely stuck it was awesome.. truck is fine surprisingly, just a little grass/snow packed underneath & the foglights got turned down
