total carnage on my truck
dam i wish the pics still work, would like to see what you were going through, i love wheeling, sometimes **** happens, what can you do, and if insurance is going to pay for then thats even better-thats why we pay for insurance might as well use it

They act like they have never used insurance money, if you were speeding and wrecked your truck for 12k in damage they wouldnt say a damn thing. Because it was offroad they act like you went out that day to commit insurance fraud
It's good to see some people USE their trucks and have fun with them. The phrase "pay to play" comes to mind here. Yah, you were playin kinda hard and ended up having to pay kinda hard this time, but you're willing to accept the consequences which is more than I can say for a lot of 'adults' I've seen over the years. I've read some of your other posts where you mentioned your age, having your own business, and how you're able to afford all your toys on your own. Good job!
I've thought about heading over to Rancho sometime when you guys talk about going out to play. I think if I go now, I'll play some....just not that hard and take lots of pictures for you guys.

As much as I think what you do with your truck looks like a lot of fun and I do not think what you're doing is wrong, heck, if I had your truck I would do the same thing. Lol. However, I do have to say that this is not what insurance was made for. Lol
You're comparing apples to oranges. Insurance is intended to pay for "accidents" not playing. Insurance is intended to protect your investments from things beyond your control, like other idiotic drivers. Your situation, while regrettable, was no accident. You knew when you went in what might happen and it was not a necessity to go wheeling. Especially after the last video of the water going up over your hood in which you stated you were scared ****less. I would have been too. You were scared because you knew what was at risk and what could have happened. 4.2 Trimble can attest to the costs associated with pay to play, I am sure.
I think its cool your insurance is going to cover it, don't get me wrong, I just wanted clarify the intent of insurance. Does it increase all of our rates? Yes, it does. Maybe not so much on an individual basis, however, claims on insurance do effect rates of the insurance as an industry. I don't care for insurance sales people, I see them as no better than lawyers and both would stab you in the back for a buck so I don't mind seeing them get the shaft but the statement that claims like this don't effect insurance is actually a false statement.
Not saying you shouldn't do what you do. I wish I had the money to do it because it looks like a ****load of fun.

i agree with db and mt. insurance is there for a reason. it WAS an accident. someone dug out the hole. he didnt sink his truck on purpose. he has a 4wd truck. with 37's what do you think he is going to do? drive it at the mall and find chicks. a truck is built with 4x4 for a reason. and a truck w/ 37's and 8 inches of lift is built to USE 4x4 a little more than most of you would. i have not seen DB complain once about what happened just complaining about all you getting on to him. he pays insurance. he can claim it if he wants.
DB, what did your parents think about it when you told them? im thinking this should be a good answer
what kinda quad you gonna get? im thinkin a polaris 800 w/ a 10" gorilla lift would get the job done for ya!

they were disappointed but its my truck so theres not much they could say except shake there head and told me i should have listened but im taking care of the problem and i learned the limits of these trucks real fast lol and i learned my lesson as stated before....
and i have yet to decide on a quad if im gonna go sport or utility lol...ill keep yall posted

definently not ruling gettin girls the mall out but i know lots of kids w/ 50-60k lifted trucks and thats what they use them for. for ex. my friend got a 68K dodge ram 2500 southern comfort edition last year just because he wanted a new truck because his 35K chevy 5.7 2500 wasnt good enough for him. truck has never seen a blade of grass on it. never seen one spec of dirt. and a matter of fact when i got stuck playing in some mud leaving school he drove by and didnt even stop to help because he was afraid to hook a strap to his hooks. (he could of pulled from concrete). basically what im saying is i would rather see someone destroy a truck like DB cuz atleast he is using it for what he built it for.

During the big storms here in the valley, the canals and levees fill up and flood over, and lots of the county roads to my duck blinds flood. When i come to standing water, i get out with my waders on and walk out. If the water gets higher than 4" past my knees, i turn around and go home or find a new route...where some people might throw it in 4-Lo and mash the right pedal.

Why is there companies that insure ATV's ? Why Rock bugies ? Why Sand Rails ? All of these things would be consdiered "playing".
You say this isn't an accident ? So then you think its on purpose ?
You have it right, insurance is for accidents. Anything that MAY happen, that you cannot predict and/or save for. Isurance plays many different roles, this is one of them, and the one that applys to DB here.
Not arguing or pissed, just trying to do a friendly fyi. Insurance isn't ONLY for highway wrecks and car accidents. Its insurance of you VEHICLE, not your activity.
