The tranny, motor, and front diff all had clean oil/fluids.
why don't you extend your tranny rear/front diff. vent tubes to the top center of the firewall so you don't get mud and crap in them? you can also permatex the top of your dipstick tubes (trans+motor) so water doesn't run down them. it's pretty easy i did it my self and havn't had mud or water in anything

<a href="http://s36.photobucket.com/albums/e12/1966Tbird/?action=view&current=truck.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e12/1966Tbird/truck.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

and there is my free beater truck mom's friend died and left it in the will to me so i lifted it and built the motor and trans and rears and now it'll go through almost anything (this was before the tires but the floor was still a little over your knee cap when on level pavement)

Barrett the link is in the 1st post.

And yes I am going to extend the breather tubes. its already in the works.

And for some reason like I said at 2:15 in the clip I switched it over to 4Hi and it lit up on the intrument panel. But you can clearly see that the 4wd never actually switched over. Its all working now, I think the 4wd never switched over as i was out there earlier in the month and did the same stuff i just never got stuck. So I prob had water in the transfer case the whole time and it kept it from switching. IDK. All I know its its over, the truck is fine and I learned my lesson.

Ya i saw it just didnt have time to watch it before I ran out the door.

man that sucks what happened to your truck! though amazing nothing permanent damage happened. If I had water coming out of my cab id be flipping out. Good job fixing everything back up, Just hope you never have to again though

Number one thing I learned from playing in the water with my Baby is to WD40 everything electrical... Not that you had a problem with the electrical, but that was my numero uno mistake learned the hard way...

Extend your breather tubes up into the back of the engine compartment somewhere...

Dielectric grease every connector in the engine compartment and under the truck. Nice video. If your 4x4 had been working you would not have been stuck. Where did the water come in? From the vents at the rear of the cab?

for my truck the transfer case was 5/16ths fuel line and the front and rear diff i used 3/8ths fuel line as well as the tranny

i also shoved some holley jets in the tubes and put hose clamps on them to keep them at the top at the tube so dirt doesn't find it's way in, something else you can do is run them into your airbox

i had all the tube sitting around, i build drag cars and motors so i have a bunch of crap sitting around most people might not, i actually used -6an braided line for the front diff because i couldn't find my rubber fuel line

I routed all my breather tubes in my Jeep to my airbox. I actually ran them all to a manifold mounted on the fire wall and ran one tube to the airbox. Well worth the hour it takes to do.
