The Tacoma is an AWESOME truck. It'll last you forever.

I have multiple friends with them, all beat them to crap. One of them has one that has 368k miles on the original tranny, engine, and drivetrain. pretty insane. Good luck with it.

the gutless 22R is irritable to me. it makes crap for power but damn, it'll run three trucks into the ground before it dies.

Yeah I like it so far, parking is a breeze now haha. The rust issuse so far is just the 95 to 00. Nobody knows if toyota is going to extend it out to 04 since the change frames or coating or something. I want to take it out and get it dirty but it the street tires that got put on it won't do so well. I mean I wish I had even ATs so I can take it out. Hopefully soon I can get some tires and go to lakeland or ocala.

03fx4f150, i went from an 04 fx4 supercrew to an 08 trd off road tacoma 4x4 with the 4.0 v6 and i have been damn impressed. on the first full tank of gas i got 18.1 mpg all city. the truck rides smoother than my f150 did and it feels faster, but that may be because it is a smaller truck. just like you this truck is better for ME right now. Dont let anybody tell you what you have right now is a bad truck becuase it isnt. i loved my f150, and im sure ill own another one someday after i get out of school, but the tacoma has taken its place suprisingly well and i have no regrets on going midsize.

Man seeing those pics was like dejavu I too bought a Tacoma when I started school. The only difference between mine and yours was I had a step side bed. I was very happy with my Tacoma. I pulled a 16' trailer with two commercial mowers every weekend with that truck for two years and had no problems. I now drive a 99 4.6L 150 and I get 14 to 16 mpg highway the Tacoma would get up to 22 on the freeway(and that was with 31x10.5x15's).

To give you an idea of how tough these "Tacos" are... I drove from Nashville to Atlanta (about 280 miles) the entire trip I was in 4H averaging 90+ mph in the pouring rain (family member emergency). There is no way in hell I would trust my 99F150 truck to do that. Not to metion I didn't have to stop for gas.

That's a damn good price. I couldn't get that for my truck. It's an 06 with 29K on it. Perfect in nearly every way (minus a wreck I've yet to take care of..)
