i live in tampa too! the only place i know of is the lakeland speedway mud pit... i like mud but thats too much mud for me.

from what i read theres a few places that allows trail rides... out around big cypress/ everglades area and up north in ocala and just north of gainsville!

there are however a few privately own mud holes out in pasco but you have to know the owner and after going out there i wont be back! just really stupid and unsafe!

my dad has 10 acres in Plant City that i go my truck dirty at and in fact got stuck this weekend! but i dont think he wants a bunch of people out there digging ruts though his pasture! lol

I went to the lakeland mud pit about 3 weeks ago and it was a lot of fun. I am with NTORA (North Tampa Off Roaders Association). There's a few places within a couple hours, but Tampa is way too commerical now and no more trails. We are going to do a trail ride through Ocala on the 22 and 23rd which is a first for me. IF you find any other places I'd be more than up for a meet to get the truck dirty!

If you know where Dew Cadillac is on Gandy, from what I hear people take their rigs out onto their Hummer trail all the time. Haven't been there myself, just hear say.

Is anyone allowed out there? Do you specific directions? I go fishing down there all the time, but can't picture it off the top of my head where there would be some trails or mud around there?

My brother knows some places out in Hudson to go get dirty. They're probably illegal though.
I wish there were some good places around here to go trail riding. I hate getting all muddy. Too much work afterwards.

There's a group of off-roaders that I'm with and we're heading out to Ocala for some trail-riding next couple weeks. I definately enjoy playing in the mud, but have to aggree that it is a pain in the A$$ to clean up afterward. ALthough with the heavy rains we've been getting I'm thinking trail-riding will be like mudding. There's gotta be some off the wall spots somehwere around tampa bay to play though. It's too big of a city not to have a place like that.

i used to take my ranger out to the state parks but now those are all paved too so you cant even get the red clay there either. i know of quite a few places friends of mine go but there not by any chance legal.
