Front end noise

I took my truck off road a little bit yesterday, I came to a right turn with about a 10" drop to it. When I made the turn and the passenger tire dropped a grinding noise came from the drivers side. I was not in 4 wheel drive. Could this be from my leveling kit? Also any ideas what made the grinding noise?

I wouldn't think your leveling kit would make a "grinding" noise happen. Does it make the noise anymore ? It could have lost vacuum for a bit, during the droop down, and that would make the hub try to engage (default setting is locked hubs). That would cause a grinding noise.

This is just a shot in the dark man. Unless the noise is still happening, i would't worry all too much. Just do an inspection, check all your parts, make sure nothing is too damaged. Check the boots to make sure they are ok. And, most important, we need pics when ya go off road!

Thanks for the info! I did a visual inspection and nothing seems to out of order. I have about 15000 miles on my truck and that has been the only time I have heard that noise, just scared me a bit when I heard it.
Love the fat kid dance!

I'm sure it was no biggie. Prolly just a bicycle stuck under the front end for a couple of seconds until you got straightened out and lost it

glad you didn't see any damage. No worries bud, we have ALL been there. heard "some" noise and went WTF ? ? If its a one time noise, and everything feels fine, operates normally, and looks good, im sure it was nothing.
