4X4 problem
Hey i was out doing some offroading today and i made the dumba$$ mistake of running really high RPMs while in 4 wheel low and the 4x4 low is messing up by ranomly jumping and not shifting properly.

What do you mean by jumping? Is it going in and out of 4x4? FWIW I have run up to 6500 rpm in 4Lo and never had any t-case problems. When I play in the Dunes I am constantly running in excess of 5000 rpm.

It's less likely his trans was overheating in low range.... low range reduces the stress on the transmission....
If it's an auto, and you had it floored, it's possible it hit the rev limiter before it shifted... If the trans is sluggish in shifting, it's quite possible to hit the limiter before the trans shifts, and that'll feel like a buck as it cuts fuel and spark, shifts, then powers back up... it's happened to me a few times. It's not hurting anything...
Maybe I'm not clear on exactly what it was doing? 'Jumping and not shifting properly' is a pretty vague description of what it was doing....
