That sucks!!!

Found this looking through youtube. Kinda felt bad but also thought it was pretty funny. And to think I almost bought one of these instead of my f150. Definitly would not want that to happen on the trail.

I saw that video before and i thought H2"s are absolutely useless. However, i then found this video. Look for the lions back clip in Oregon, holly sh%t . I would never try that.

HA! That last video is like watching a retard make fun of another retard.

As much as I hate Jeeps I'd much rather wheel one of them as opposed to a Hummer. The only one that was any good was the H1 and the ONLY good thing on it was the portals. Neither of them is worth a crap on the trails in stock form.

Lions Back (now closed )wasn't really that much of an obstacle. It can give you a good pucker factor though. The truck that went out of control down it was an old Blazer (guess the Hummer guys couldn't tell that and a Jeep apart, go figure), but the story behind it is that after the ascent they (newly weds on their honeymoon) turned around and part way down lost the vacuum to the MC. The fact that it was an auto to boot is what sent them out of control. Trails like that is EXACTLY why I wheel a 5spd because I can idle down the hill and not touch my brakes as thats usually the worst thing you can do.

^^^ x2. i wouldn't want to wheel a Cheap (i mean Jeep) or a lame hummer. Suzuki Samurai's, we squeeze through chit these guys can't crawl over.

And when did they close off Lion's back ? ?

Samis are good platforms, just hate those birfields Light and small is the key. Thats why I picked my Ranger for my rig, its small enough that it fits down almost any trail (though the D60 makes it a tad tighter) and its light enough that it doesn't sink like an anchor in the mud if I'm forced to go through that.

They closed Lions Back off probably 4-6 mo ago. That whole portion of the park was sold off from what I understand. I guess a housing development or some crap is going up

Jeeps are ok, its just the mouth breathing, mall crawling, pompus idiots that drive them I can't stand.

Wow man... I never had the chance of driving myself down Lion's Back. I went for the ride once before... a few years back i think now.

The Zuk is by far my favorite platform to build around. The birfield is something you just live with until you upgrade those axles ! I saw a company making a birfield "cup" or ring, which will help strengthen it... but yes, they are still the weak link ! ! ! ! ! But being able to buy one for $150 .... put $6k into it and have it compete with the pros is pretty sweet.

Right now I am working on a new long travel suspension, tubed front fenders, and hacking off the back half... extending it just a bit and caging in the "bed". Should be pretty sweet, and allow me to crawl some decent rocks.

So, you live nearby MOAB ? ? Or do you make the long trek in?

Thanks a lot man. i don't have many pics of my last one. Didn't have digi's and was never really big into jumpin out to snap some photos (regretfully, now). But this next build up i will take plenty of pics and have my "internet proof" .

And yes, rocks are crazy, but to me the offer more of a driver challenge. You have to have a good spotter, someone you can trust and who knows where to place each tire. you have to be skilled with what you drive and be able to "feel" what your rig tries to tell you. Its always sweet looking at places most people can't even walk up, then drive through it ! Plus, another advantage to having a rock crawler is, most trails are "blocked off" with big boulders. You see something blocking your way.... i see an extra obstacle thoughtfully placed there just for me !

Drive it HARD, but tread lightly.
