anyone do live axle conversion?
Take the Fabritech website you found and forget the address.
Yes it has been done before to differing levels of competance. I wouldn't waste my time with a 4 link on the front and go with a radius arm style suspension. It can be built to give the best balance of offroad vs onroad suspension.
The other thing to keep in mind is that a D44 isn't going to be much stronger than the RC8.8 you have up front now. In stock form a 35 or 36" tire is going to be all the more it can handle. If you put alloy shafts in it you might get by with 38s if you leave it unlocked. If you're going to go bigger then you need to drop the money on a D60. A D44 can be built as strong as a marginal stock D60, but it will cost you more than the cost of the D60.

if it is the fabritech kit then i wouldnt get it. i talked to a guy that put the kit on his truck when i was planning mine. he said the kit sucked and if he could do it again he would get someone to build it custom
WOW. I think I just fell in love with that truck. Your frickin truck makes 40" tires look small!! That thing is a MONSTER ! ! So, what drivetrain your running? The 5.4 or all new? Tranny? and your said SD axles? Dana 60 front and rear ? Gear ratio? Sorry bout all the questions but thats just awesome. You do install or pay to have it done? Either way, lookin good man.
