Rocks in the brakes

Does anyone else have this problem? Everytime I go offroading I end up getting a rock stuck in my brakes they usually come out after about a mile but man does it make a god awful sound.

It does make a horrible sound. You'll definately know when it happens.

As far as solutions... I don't really know any.

I can usually knock them loose if I get going about 15 to 20 mph and hit the brakes hard.

I used to get them behind the splash shield and the rotor on my Dodge Dakota. I soon avoied pea gravel areas & when I couldnt avoid them I slowed down as not to fling them everywhere

Random scraping noises add character to your vehicle, as does two week old mud hardened onto it.

Simple: Remove the dust guard.

My truck didn't sit 2 hours before I started to clean it.

The slamming on the brakes foreward is not advisable. Because the rock (under normal circumstances unless you are backing over gravel for long periods of time) are grooved in as the direction you traveled when it got stuck. The best way is find an open parking lot, go backwards quickly and emergency stop (just slam.) The rocks will fall out without having too worry about them grooving, as they pop out with a sudden change of roation.

I will try the backing up instead next time that happens.

I wasn't talking about you specifically, just muddy trucks in general.

I like to leave mud on my truck for a few days, but not too long. I'm not too worried about the paint. The truck's not really pretty anyways.
