I'm fairly sure he bent the frame (truck kind of V'ed a bit).
He also was paralyzed from what I remember... so I'd just warn to be careful with stuff like that because it can turn out a lot worse then just a broken truck.
i saw that thread. it was on a chevy forum, the guy got really messed up. his truck bent pretty bad too.

look at this GM jump though. he bent his frame too but man he got some mad air.

It pays to look before you leap, Ive learned that lesson the hard way. Anyways spend all that money on those rims and what no spare? If the truck drives fine why not put a spare on and save your self $300. Seems like a good idea to at least have tried to me.... but thats just me. Glad no one was hurt.

I didnt have the tools to lower the spare tire, I didnt have a high-lift jack, and I didnt have a wrench set.... I took everything out for my fiberglass sub-box. a stock jack prolly wouldnt have reached anyways, and if it did it would just sink into the sand. I didnt have any wood lying around...

Ummm... is that not what the pickup bed is for.... to carry this stuff?

Good story, though.

man i used to offroad my truck everytime we went to the dezert to go riding. nothing better than hauling but down a dirt road pitching it sideways. That was until i had to wash the thing and saw all these freaking chips in it. Plus i was a little nervous about that upper ball joint. now everytime we go it just sits there. kinda bums me out cause i had fun it in but id rather have a vehicle that will get me home than to thrash it jsut for a couple seconds of fun.
