Cracked the Bellhousing

I have an '04 f150, I have blown the transmission(4r70w) twice in it now and now I'm pursuing changing the transmission completely. What exactly is linked in the computer system between the engine and transmission? Would a new transmission controller allow me to change the transmission or would their be some disagreement in the computer system? Is their a new efi computer, pcm, for the new modular 5.4L. What other transmissions would bolt directly to my motor, what adapter plates are avaliable?

-don't factor in transfercase or the driveshafts fitting

A 4r100 out of a Superduty or Lightning will bolt up no problem. As for the computer part, I have noooo idea. My guess is that Mike Troyer could take care of it...

Find out if the superduty w/5.4L comes with a 5speed, that should tell you if that trans will bolt up and the computer will cooperate. I know there are groups of people who crack PCM's, do their own tunes, etc and I'm sure there is a forum for them @ the XCal's website. Definitely post over there and I'm sure someone will work something out for you.

From: missing Texas...
you'll need the PCM that comes with the torque shift tranny and a 5.4 engine then have that tuned to your truck..

I thought you were talking about the F150 w/5speed. I doubt the PCM will run the instrument cluster in an F150, so keep that in mind.

Cause it won't bolt up. And it's his daily driver...I'm pretty sure he likes his overdrive...
