4x4 Motor Went Out....

4x4 Motor Went Out....

i posted a few days ago about using my 4x4 going from 4hi to 4low...heard a loud pop...then got the "wrench icon" on my dash....

took it to the dealer....motor went out....

How does that happen?
i dont use it very often...are there 2 motors one for 4 hi and one for 4 low...

good thing its still under warantee

I dont think it is any fault of yours. These motors are known to go out on all makes and models. Typicially why the old timers prefer the manual transfer cases, less to go wrong

Cross posting is a no-no. The motors are no longer a common failure item. You seldom hear of the motor going out on a 97-up truck. The system is much more reliable than it used to be.
