2005 FX4 gear question....

Hi,
Can someone tell me what rear and front axles are on the 2005 FX4 truck? I need to go with some lower gears, I currently have the 3.73's that came with it, but running 35" tall tires which turns the gearing like I was running 2.72's. I figure I will need 4.88's or bigger to make it feel like the 3.73's that it came with. I'm not sure what the stock axle housings are, also where is the best place to get 4x4 gears? I'm used to ordering race car parts, not 4x4 parts.

I originaly posted this in the other driveline section, but then I figured off road would be the best place for it to go.

Thanks.....

believe the front is an 8.8 and the rear is a 9.75
running 35's myself, you need a 4.10 to bring you back to the feel of a 3.73ls 4.56 would most likely be the most useful though if you do indeed feel the need to regear- do you have a tuner? if not- i went with the xcal2 to try and recover some of my low end, and aI am more than happy with the outcome (turning 35" muds over at a stop light)...
your working ratio is hovering around a 3.4 w/ 35's (assuming you came from the 31.9" bfg rugged trails stock)

Thanks for the input... It feels like crap out of the hole right now, and my gas mileage totaly sucks. Is this because the rear gear is now too small? It feels like the converter is stalling higher now with the 35's on, I need gears quick. I realize I will need a programmer to fix the spedometer issue, but I'm still trying to decide wich one to go with. What is the best brand to go with? I had ford motor sport gears in my mustang and they were kind of crap on quality. I went through 2 sets befor switching to richmonds, and never had a problem after that.

Maybe try 4.56's.

I hear that Precision Gears are good.
