First decent off road trip

so i took my first decent off road shot last night, nothin too major, a few decent hills, a couple muddy ruts, nothin that special. heres the thing, i went with a buddy, and it was just us in my truck, we came up to about a 35-40 foot long puddle, roughly 8 inches of water standing on the mud, the mud around it was soggy enough that when you stepped on it you would sink about 3 inches or so. i still have the stock tires, and i know i will probably get dogged for this, but i chickened out, i didnt have anyone around that could really help if we got stuck, so i didnt want to risk it. how capable are our stock tires goin through mud? did i make a wise decision by not goin for it, or should i have grown a pair. i called my buddy that told me about the place i went, and he said he had gotten stuck a few times, and advised me against it. it was at the bottom of a valley, downhill right into it, and uphill as soon as you got thru. if you could tell me i did the right thing i would feel a lot better, right now i just feel like a b**** sorry no pics, digi cam is out of commission.

well personally i think it isnt fun till you get stuck but hey in your situation the only thing i would do is creep through it in 2wd then if it got bad i would back out and go around, i wouldnt risk getting stuck with noone to pull me out

ooops stuck

Today, I got stuck...pretty bad. The day started out good, following a jeep to go and help some kids stuck in the mud with their chevy. A little help of mister Warn, and there they are out. So kept on going, followed a trail, some mud, more mod, and then a bad decision.......and stuck. Took a while to get me out but the jeep guy found a way. Winch, and a chain running from behind his jeep to a tree to keep him from sliding forward. I am safe

Anyway check the gallery

I cant wait to get my truck that dirty, so jealous! Hopefully by mid-summer new tires will be up on the mod list, its so hard to pick what to do, so many nice things for these trucks. I want to get new tires tho so that i can take her a little deeper off road than with these dinky stock tires, but i would love to find somewhere like that around here

sure a lot of fun

Yep it was a lot of fun but the cleaning part is the hardest. It took me 3 times at the car wash plus one hand wash to get everything out

Oh well, that is why you are buying a 4*4, to have fun

yeah, does not take much to get a 6000 pounds truck stuck, it is sinking pretty quick

new pictures from some nice off-roading

I'd have tried it if you had someone to help pull you out....alone you made the choice.
