4.10s Detroit and eaton lockers installed.

I just finished putting 4.10s and an eaton electric locker in the front and 4.10s and a detroit locker in the rear. The front went real smooth didn't have to adjust the pinion depth with the new gears. I had to fight with the rear to get the pinion depth right and the small pinion bearing was a pain in the butt, hard to get to press on using a new 1000 ft*lb impact wrench.

Anyway, so I went and tried it out and wow! It is nice to have all 4 pulling. I still managed to get stuck once but you can go so much further than stock.

I had debated on the Detroit for awhile but it was the only option for a true locker for the rear. I got mixed reviews about it for street driving. It is hardly noticable on the street, in fact the only time you know it is in there is when you leave from a stop and making a 90 degree turn under more than 1/4 throttle, like giving it a good bit of gas leaving a stop sign making a right or left turn, it will lock them up and you here the inside tire scratching. But if you leave normal every thing is like stock.

Noise, there is none on the street. While off roading with the window down and you are really listening you can hear a click here and there.

The 4.10s made a big difference from the 3.55s especially on the highway in overdrive. You can accelerate without downshifting.

The truck is a 2000 F150 4x4 extended cab 5.4 285/70/17 BFG all terrains on 17x9 mickey thompson classic II wheels. Homemade tool boxes and winch bumper out of aluminum. Warn 9000i. And a xcal II to so I could program the tire/gear size.

Thats impressive, I'd love to be locked and hope to do so after my lift. Did you do the ring and pinion work yourself and install the 4.10's? How difficult is that and do you have any pictures of the install process?

Josiah, yeah I did all the work myself. No pictures.

David, no I did not upgrade axle shafts. I have the 9.75 in rear end so it is virtually indestructible in a 1/2 ton.

Your 95 has the 8.8 in rear axle which is a very tough unit but the bearings, carrier, and gears are so much bigger in the 9.75.

They do make stronger axle shafts for the 8.8 but you don't need them unless you make about 500 hp or either do a lot of offroading with 35 in tires or bigger.
