Question gearing

Sorry if this is covered anywhere else, couldn't find a specific answer. When chaning axle gearing, I find one number off for front and rear.IE 8.8 4.56 while dana44 4.55 or 4.88 for the 8.8 and 4.89 for the Dana. Is this Ok, normal or just for occasional use. I don't drive in 4x4 off road all the time, but when I do, I usually leave it in. When I change the carrier for the bigger gears will I lose my stock limited slip? ALso anyone with experience of 4.56 vs 4.88? BFG general terrain 33'2 and want the 4.88's if they won't be too much for 65mph. I am thinking around 2400 rpm. What does this due to milage?

Also, just out of curiosity, anyone put in 1.7 ratio rockers in place of the 1.6 on a fairly stock 302 EFI? Thanks.

Yeah that is fine. In fact from 80 to 96 thats the way they came. If you can put the lower number in the front. But .01 is not going to be noticable.

I would go with 4.56s with the 33's. That will be plenty.

33's bumped my mileage from about 15 down to 12, but i left stock gears in there. .01 is not enough to matter at all on the gears, and 4.56's are good enough. for mileage, id go with 4.11's, but 4.56's will give you a little more power off the line.

oh, and you wont lose the limited slip either.
