Cool Is the FX4 suspension very good?

I'm trying to decide whether I want the FX4 w/ leather or the Lariat 4x4. I know the FX4 has a better suspension, but it is that much better? Would I be better off getting the Lariat and upgrading the suspension? What do you recommend?

Thanks,
Kyle

i have an fx4 and it is great. smooth ride on the road and highway but stiff enough to go off road and great for towing and hauling stuff. i love it.

It is really up to you on which "trim" you like better...the FX4 has "off road tuned" shocks and some flimsy skid plates on the under carriage.... as far as suspension is concerned the only difference between a lariat and FX4 would be the stiffer shocks....I got my FX4 because i liked the front grill alot better than the lariat as well as the painted bumpers and interior trim of the FX4, especially with the center console....i didnt get the black leather but personally i think the black leather and FX4 trim looks better than the lariat leather and trim..so the answer to your question is the FX4 suspension is not superior to the FX4, esecially if you plan to lift....but if you ask me, get the FX4 with leather and put a 6" lift with 35s on it.....one sick combination

The only main difference is the shocks, and they arent *that* much of a great improvement or anything.

If you like the Lariat options more than the FX4 options, I would get the Lariat 4x4...

Thats right, the shocks are different but still suck. I opted for the loaded XLT because I knew I was going to put a lift in and take off the stock tires and flimsy skid plates. Personally the loaded XLT trim looks very good too, although I do like the FX4 cluster better. I also wanted the lariat style grill so I could mount fog lights behind it.
All great trucks with very little difference aside from some trim items...you cant go wrong.
