Anyone with a Locker

I have a 2000 4x4 with 3.55 gears and was thinking about replacing my stock Trac-Loc differential with a locker in the rear. I have been told if you don't drive off-road almost all the time don't get a locker you can break an axle, is this true any comments experiences good or bad? I do some of off-roading and when I do it is usually in very slippery conditions mud, soft snow or sand.

If I drove offroad most of the time, I would consider a locker. If I did a lot of on road & some offroad: I would consider an Auburn Pro or an Eaton-Posi.

rkjerue, If You are really serious about off roading, go to Eaton-Posi website & check-out the E-Locker. This thing is awesome!

I think it is now available for the 9.75" rear diff.
