Rear Axle Not Centered
Rear Axle Not Centered
I HAVE A 2002 SUPERCREW THAT I RECENTLY INSTALLED MUDFLAPS ON AND DISCOVERED THAT MY REAR AXLE WAS NOT CENTERED ON THE FRAME. THE LEFT WHEEL STICKS OUT 3/4" MORE THAN THE RIGHT. hAS ANYONE ELSE DISCOVERED THIS? IS IT SOMETHING I SHOULD MENTION TO DEALER, OR IS IT DESIGNED LIKE THIS AND I SHOULD IGNORE IT. i LOOKED AT ANOTHER SCREW ON THE STREET AND NOTICED THE SAME PROBLEM. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THANKS
THANKS
rear axle not centered
I also found my rear axle not centered on my 2002 F150.Take it back to the dealer! It might be easily realigned or it could be something more serious. The bracket that the spring pack bolts to on the banjo housing might be welded in the wrong spot.Good luck!
Greetings
So did anyone get this matter resolved at the dealership? After reading this post, I took a look at my screw from the rear and the driver side rear tire sticks out more than the passenger side rear. Just curious if any one has more info on this. Thanks.

My 2003 was the same way. You might look at how the box and the cab line up. I loosened up the six bolts that hold the box down and after lining it up exactly with the cab, from side to side,
the wheels stick out the same on both sides on the rear.
hope that works for you.

Keep in mind that you need to measure from wheel to the FRAME not the body. If indeed there is a problem and you move the body so it "looks" right you're sadly mistaken.

Exactly right ! My cab and box are now centered on the frame.
I measured several different place from the frame to the cab and
box. It's all even now. And the rear wheels are even with the box
At the factory, they dont have the time, I guess, to get it just perfect.
Thanks
