Letters & Numbers on rearend tag

Not real sure what all these numbers and letters mean..any help would be great..THX

they read like this::

Not sure what the rest of it means, but the 3 L 55 means you have a 3:55 limited slip. Congratulations, wish I had LS

And the 8 L 55 is more than likely "3" L 55. An 8:55 would probably have you at about 2 miles to the gallon at best

Your rear end is an 8.8 inch 355 limited slip
