i broked down a few miles out of town, the day i got my powetrax and my clear casing put on and while out of town driving about 75 or 80 i hear a terrible bang. then i hear like grinding noise and pull over right away. it was dark so i wasnt able to see the prob, but was thinking that the rear main seal connecting the driveshaft and the transfer case prob popped off, because it happened once before. After getting my truck towed to a friends house, i checked in the morning and the seal was fine. then i looked farther and found out the that entire transfer case was cracked big time. Im thinking it has something to do with my driveshaft because it looks like its got some dings on it, and i also have a tsb article for my truck stating to change from the 4.5 inch driveshaft the the 5 incher. ive already order the parts..but i am wanting to know if anyone has another idea what could have happened? has this happened to anyone else on the board? should the new extension and 5 inch driveshaft take care of the prob? and is there any tips on replacing the parts since im going to do it myself?
