4x4

I'm new to this 4x4 and efi thing. Is it alright to drive with my hubs locked in, if so what is the max speed before I start tearing things.Thats driving on pavment.
I've got dual tanks, would it hurt if I ran one out of gas?

from your post i will assume that you have an older ford with manual hubs. leaving your hubs locked is fine as long as you don't use 4x4 on hard surfaces. the only drawback is that you will have everything in the front end spinning right up to the transfer case. that causes extra wear and consumes more fuel. if you use your 4x4 a lot, it is certainly more convenient not to have to get out and deal with the hubs. personally, i would not leave them locked all of the time.

4x4

Thank you for reply. I have a 1990 F150 extra cab 4x4. And the reason I was wondering is in bad(snow) weather. We don't get that much here on the Oregon Coast but when we do I don't want to have to stop and lock in the hubs.
