Does anyone know how to decipher the tags on the rearend .

I was wondering the same thing. I just bought a 94 F250 with the towing package but the door tag has been removed. The tag on my rearend lists-
SS122G
.55 10 2 4G27
Anyone for a shot on what it is?

well most of them from what i have seen are 3.55 but just to make sure just get the numbers of the rear end tag or vin number and call your local ford dealership mechanic.

 

JGD, I believe you have a 10.25" Sterling (OEM Ford) axle. Does it have 12 bolts that hold the rear inspection cover on. If so, it id s 10.25". Without mike cheat sheet, I think it may be 3.55 ratio.

I believe all F250 LD actually had 3.73 Limited Slips just like todays 7700 # payload F150 LD.
