What ever the manual says. My 2001 says 5w-20 and that it what I will use. I don't want to stray from what the manual says and void my warranty.

Post Oil Change?

I own a 2001 F150 4x4, 5.4 and a 2000 Expedition with a 5.4
Question: The manual calls for for a 5w20 oil for the F150 and 5w30 for the Expedition.
I have always used a 10w30 in all of my vehicles, mainly because I live in florida and it never gets cold enough to justify the 5w. What weight oil should I be using in the F150???

Thumbs up

0w30 will work to. I use 5w30 Amsoil. NEW VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY

AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil may be used in the engine of any vehicle, including those under warranty, for which the vehicle manufacturer requires the use of an SAE 0W-30, 5W-30 or 10W-30 motor oil.

Use of AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil will not void new car warranties
