Question 4X4 Low ....problems

Hello,

1994 4x4 with manual hubs.

Instructions for 4x4 low state..."push down on lever and pull back"

It won't let me...

Lever does not move down.

It works fine between 2wd and 4wd high, but lever will NOT push down.

Any ideas ?

Please advise.

Thanks.

I don't have any experience with a '94 but my old '88 and my '99 (and if memory serves my old '78 did too ) both pull straight back from 2hi to 4 hi. Then push to the left and pull back to get neutral and then further back to get 4lo. You might try that. I've got a buddy at work with a '95. I'll try to ask him the drill for his.

Did you put the tranny in neutral?

It should be over to the left and back. Sometimes if there is any load on the drivetrain, it won't go. Try slipping it into gear for a sec or rocking the truck slightly. With the tranny in neutral, it should slip right into low...
