I am trying to determine all of the specs for my newly purchased 98 Lariat. I posted another question a couple of weeks ago and have since been asked what kind of rear end I have". How do I find this out?? I've looked at the door plate (cryptic as any other vehicle I've owned...) and tried the VIN decoder, which only told me the things I already know -- 5.4 V8, built in Canada...

Any help would be appreciated!

well if you have the 5.4 you have a 9.75" rearend. as far as gears and differential, find the axle code (it could be on the differential cover or on the door jamb label) and post it here and someone could tell you what you have. hope this helps!
