Talking Speedometer Calibration

I had my rear gears changed on my 98 F150 from 3.08 to 3.73 this past weekend and am enjoying the difference!!! Only problem now is the speedometer/odometer. I understand that this can be fixed by changing a gear where the speedometer cable attaches to the rear axel. How hard is this and does the cable connect at the differential or somewhere else on the axel? Any advise would be appreciated.

The speedo cable connects to the tranny near the tail. One bolt holds the gear unit in place. Should take about 5 minutes to change.

Real easy and you can get those gears for about $10-$15.00. I went from 3.55 gears 30" tires to 4.56 gears 33" tires. Speedo gear 20 tooth black to a 23 tooth white.

Try Carolina Mustang at (919) 467-2900 ($15.00 per gear) or
Randy's Ring and Pinion at
www.ring-pinion.com ($25.00 per gear)

Hope this helps!
