Drivetrain Clunk

I have a solid clunk noise comming from the rear of my truck. I've taken it to the dealer seven times without any luck. The clunk occurs either whenI come to a stop or when I first take off from a stop. The dealer siad it is the drive shaft making the noise. The first few times they greased the yoke housing without any luck. Finally they replaced the complete driveshaft assembly and yoke but it still made no difference. A friend suggested I strengthen the rear suspension so I had an extra leaf spring added. This seemed to correct the clunking noise for a couple of months but now it's back. Anyone have any ideas what may be causing this? It is so annoying and I am getting desperate for a fix.

Sounds like the same thing I had. I found mine would not clunk when I had a load in the bed. Usually had to be over 500#. I later picked up some overload springs from Hellwig to resolve the sagging I had when hauling 1000# (the rear would drop to almost the stops!). It cured the sagging, but also stopped the clunk and the wheel hop I also had.

That was several months ago, and it's still clunk/hop free.
