Unhappy Torque Values

I recently installed a new cv axle on my 2011 f150. I found most of the torque specs online but I could not find the torque value for the nut on the end of the cv axle that is just behind the dust cover. One other problem I have is that I seemed to have put a very small cut on the inner cv axle boot during installation and there is visible a small amount of grease slightly oozing out. Some help with either of these would be greatly appreciated.

The cut boot needs to be replaced or it will lead to early failure of the cv joint. I'm not sure about your model but I think the torque of the nut you speak of is low, somehing like 22 ft lbs. But find a manual with that spec before tightening it. It is something like 221 ft lbs for my 2002, but they changed the design in 2004. #not a mechanic

To fix the CV boot, just get a CV split boot repair kit.

DO NOT drive the vehicle while you got a torn boot, especially if it's a new CV. You might as well burn your money.
