Quality Gear Manufacturer

Next project on "Big Sloppy" which is my 2000 f150 is going to be moving to 4:10 gears and Eaton Detroit TruTrac limited slip. Who is a good quality gear manufacturer?

I see mainly Richmond, Motive, and Yukon. Yukon is by far the most expensive but I have seen some people in this forum saying to stay away from them. What would you recommend?

Thanks!

I have Motive 4:10s in my truck. They've been working fine.

alot depends here....lol
I love richmond for 35 yrs...always used them in my street cars...

BUT

They didn't offer what I needed for my 4x4... so... Motive was not an OPTION for ME ...as anybody that puts words like "not intended for quiet running vehicles"...uh NOPE!!.(used to be in their info details)... Not a BIG fan of Yukon but they did have what i needed...4.56 for BOTH the 8.8 reverse and the 9.75 rear. I managed to score a super deal at ...(wait for it..) Autozone ..lol...yup.. BOTH gear sets for like $350. Ordered online..spoke to NOBODY arrived in a week. They have performed well, NO NOISE!!!! (yes a bad set-up OR a bad gear will make noise...remember ZOOM gears?...they were named that not because they made you go faster...but thats the NOISE they made...lol)
Can't complain...

Thanks guys. I have also stumbled across Nitro-Gear and they have a pretty nice looking kit for my truck and ratio. Had a little chat with a rep and was great, might give them a shot. Anybody here tried them?

After a bit more contemplation I think 4.56 might be the better choice since the truck is running on 35s and I use it to haul wood, tow etc fairly often.

Richmond Gear used to say that ratios of 4.10 or higher were noisy. Don't know if that still applies?

I've found that noisy gears are due mostly from improper installation.

I had mine done by a shop that only deals with transmissions and drive lines, nothing else.

So obviously since that is what they do, day in, day out, they would do a great job. Which is what they did, because it's quiet and no noises.

They also had me in and out in about a hour and a half. No messing around.

Some shops told me it's a 2 day project.

if you are rolling 35's....you DEFINITELY WANT 4.56's.....anything less would be LESS than stock (actually the 4.10 would be = to "stock with 3.55's) I don't know about yours but in stock trim (32's with 3.55) mine was a turd...at best.
