Drive Shaft Help

My drive shaft vibrates and rattles. Its not constant, but severe when I hit a bump or sometimes going up hill under heavy power. The part that goes from the transfer case to the rear driveshaft (slip yoke?) sticks out about 3.5 inches from where it normally is. I believe I need a custom length driveshaft. Could somebody point me in the right direction... Either if I'm wrong on what I'm hearing or a website. I've viewed a few websites, but I have no idea what any of the splines or lengths or any of the numbers I need are. Much thanks.

99 f-150 5.4 4x4 lariat ex. cab with 5 inch lift kit

I was unable to find the correct forum for this, sorry.

You found the correct forum.

What you need to do is go to a local driveshaft shop and have them look at what you have. They will build you what you need. This is a common problem with lift kits.

Appreciate the response, though I should also add, I need to order one because I live in the middle of nowhere Nebraska. The closest place to get one made might be Denver, CO. That's about a 5 hour drive that I don't have the time to make. Though I do appreciate your input.

South West. Right in the middle of a straight line from Omaha to Denver.

Try Inland Truck Parts and Service in North Platte or Dan's Engine and Driveline Repair in Grand Island.

Thanks alot! I'm trying to get ahold of inland right now. There about a hour and a half away. That's not too bad. I appreciate your help. I'm not the best with the internet, and am always hesitent to give out where I live. Thanks again, friend.
