carrier cross pinwont go back in
carrier cross pinwont go back in
so i did an axle seal today...no problems getting the new one in, fixed a stuck ebrake actuator all good!
now i go to put the shaft back in...slides in as it should and engages with the gears in the carrier...i put the c clip back on and pull the axle to set it in place...all good
i go to tap the pin back in and it won't move once it gets to the ends of the shafts...it seems like it is like 2mm to narrow of a gap. I have tried the c lip both directions, the other c clip both directions i cant even get it to start.
the shaft did have to be tapped out to get it out so im guessing it was always a bit...tight.
thoughts?
im loosing my mind over the simplest process.

well i got a bit ballsy...rotated it 90 degrees so the shaft was horizontal and bfh'd it into place, once it got past the initial part of the shafts it slid way forward then got tight again when it got to the top spider gear..
generally i don't like to do that but hey i guess its a lesson in proper amount of force applied lol
