CV Boot Failure

I just replaced my lower control arms, Ball Joints and tie rod ends on my 2005 F150 4X4. Apparently sometime during the process, I broke the metal clasp that holds the boot on the CV joint at the wheel, and it came off and threw grease everywhere. It's not torn, it just came off. How do you add grease back in before you re-install the boot? Do you just pump the joint full as best as you can or is there a certain way to do it?
Thanks

Once you break a boot, it's best to replace the whole axle with a reman. They aren't that expensive.
