8.8 Diff. '02 4.2 V6 2WD

I'll be replacing the rear axle seals this week. Replacing the Diff cover in the process. Schedule is very cramped this week. I need to do this as quickly as possible, i.e. limited time for back and forth to the store on my only night available.

Trying to acquire everything I need in advance. I want to replace the cover bolts. (I usually replace bolts when I R&R, just one of my many quirks)

Can anyone tell me the size (Dia, Pitch, Length) of the cover bolts so that I can buy them before I start? All the same length? Washers+Lock washers on these?

Pull one top bolt and take it over to the hardware store and match it up.

 

Should be 5/16" - 18TPI and if you're reusing the thin cover, 3/4" long should be good.
A thicker aluminum cover could use another 1/4" longer.
Flat washers would work.
Quantity of 10

 

I was going to do the "pull one as a sample" thing this afternoon if no one replied. It occurred to me after I posted that it might be the safe thing to verify it anyway.

I appreciate the info on the size and the washers.

I really didn't want to pull one, buy 10, and then find that there were a few longer ones. Didn't seem very likely though considering the application.
